CHANNAHON, IL — Cities and counties across the country continue to bring back many of the traditional Independence Day activities that were either canceled or modified in the last two years.

July 4 is just around the corner, so it's time to find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near you in 2022.

When: Sunday, July 3,event is from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. The event is free.

Where: Channahon's Community Park, 23304 West McClintock Road

Channahon Park District's announcement states: "Join us July 3 for a new firework show, on a new day with new partners: the Village of Channahon and Three Rivers Public Library, for the same old family fun. Open to all ages."

The entertainment will include the band "Strung Out" playing rock, soul, funk and favorite one hit wonders from the past few decades. There will also be multiple food trucks and food vendors.
