Library Incentives Offered On Black Friday

Free tote bags and a 50 percent overdue fine forgiveness is offered at library locations in Channahon and Minooka on Black Friday.

CHANNAHON/MINOOKA, IL - The Three Rivers Library District will offer enticing Black Friday deals for those who want to spend the hectic shopping day in the "quiet serenity" of their library locations in Channahon and Minooka.

Visitors to the libraries at 25207 W. Channon Dr. in Channahon and 109 N. Wabena Ave. in Minooka on Friday, Nov. 24 will receive one free tote bag per family, free coffee, tea or hot cocoa and a 50 percent fine forgiveness on overdue fines. There will also be a 'Buy One, Get One' offer at the Book Nook at the Channahon location.

Every transaction made at checkout that day could also have library goers feeling the fun. Those who check out materials will be able to spin a wheel or play Plinko to win prizes.

“We decided to offer our communities an alternative to the stress of the standard Black Friday shopping,” Debbie Griggs, assistant director at Three Rivers Library, said. “Our patrons already know we have the best deals in town when it comes to books, movies, music, and computers."

The Channahon Library will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. that day. Hours for the Minooka Library will be 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
