Local Group Accepting Donations to be Distributed to Those in Need Following Tornado

The group is accepting donations at Plymouth Congregational Church in Plainfield.

A local group is accepting donations Friday and Saturday for those in need following the tornado that ravaged Fairdale.

The group Helping Hugs is accepting the following:

  • Gift Cards (Target, Walmart, fast food, Home Depot, or Visa gift cards)
  • Plastic totes (new or used)
  • Toiletries
  • Work gloves
  • Flashlights
  • Batteries (all types)
  • Neosporin
  • First aid supplies
  • Dish soap
  • Laundry soap

Donations can be dropped off at Plymouth Congregational Church at the Corner of Illinois and Lockport streets in downtown Plainfield. The group has also invited those willing to help with the effort to lend a hand at the collection site.

Donations will be accepted until 8 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. until noon Saturday.
