Local Gymnasts Headed to the AAU Nationals

The Gymnasts will be traveling along with their coach, Tera Smith, to Kingsport, Tennessee to compete in the AAU National competition.

The gymnasts just completed their regular competition season where they brought home many Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards. They earned many First-Place awards within individual events, Team, and in All-Around competitions as well. They will be competing for Team Central. This includes gymnasts from Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Iowa.

Over the past few months the gymnasts have participated in various fundraisers throughout Channahon, Minooka, and neighboring communities. The gymnasts are appreciative of the generosity and support provided by those that have contributed to help the I& M team and those headed to the National competition. They offer thanks to both Channahon and Minooka Casey’s General Store, Jewel-Osco Minooka, Wal-Mart Morris, Minooka Ace Hardware, Peak Fitness, Farmers Insurance-Austin Hough, Edward Jones-Adam Underhill/Financial Advisor, Hammes Dental, Dimensions Hair Barbers & Salon, Minooka Collision Center, Inc., Fat Boyz Pizza & Stuff and Von Holten Eyecare.
