Joliet's Wanted Man Sought By Channahon Police

Michael Davis should be considered armed and dangerous and citizens should not approach or attempt to detain him, Channahon police said.

CHANNAHON, IL — The Channahon Police Department issued a press release on Friday seeking your help in trying to find felony criminal defendant Michael L. Davis, age 41, who now faces 15 counts of aggravated domestic battery and domestic battery following a brutal attack upon a woman inside the Love's Travel Center in Channahon near Interstate 55.

Davis may be lurking around Joliet now, according to Channahon authorities.

Deputy Police Chief Craig Gunty said that the Channahon Police Department was dispatched to the Love’s Travel Center located at 23801 W Bluff Rd. at 1:13 p.m. on Wednesday because a man was beating a female clerk. An unknown bystander intervened and the attacker ran away and drove off.

"The vicious attack was captured on security cameras and the injuries sustained required the victim to be transported to the hospital," Gunty announced.

Shortly after the incident, the vehicle Davis was driving was stopped by the Joliet Police Department. Davis managed to run away and evade arrest.

Davis is known to frequent several locations in Joliet. The Channahon Police Department has obtained an arrest warrant for Davis which includes 15 counts of both Domestic Battery and Aggravated Domestic Battery.

"The Channahon Police Department is working tirelessly with outside agencies to locate and apprehend Davis," Gunty said.

Davis should be considered armed and dangerous and citizens should not approach or attempt to detain him, Gunty noted.

If anyone has any information on Davis’ whereabouts, they are asked to call the Will County Crimestoppers at (800)323-6734. Any tips received will remain anonymous and depending on the information provided, individuals could receive a cash reward.
