McFun for Coal City Early Childhood at the Coal City McDonald's

Coal City Early Childhood Center held their first ever McTeacher's Night at the Coal City McDonald's on Broadway St. on Wednesday, March 8.

Coal City Early Childhood Center held their first ever McTeacher's Night at the Coal City McDonald's on Broadway St. on Wednesday, March 8. A McTeacher's Night is organized to help raise money for local schools by having teachers work at McDonald's and then giving a percentage of the night's sales to the local school.

On Wednesday, the restaurant was taken over by teachers excited to serve freshly prepared meals to students and their families to raise money for Coal City Early Childhood Center. The students and families were excited to see their teachers behind the counter and throughout the restaurant.

Many teachers worked from the school. The McTeacher's jobs included greeting guests, cleaning the lobby, working the front counter, serving drinks, clearing tables, selling pies, and even dressing up in a pie costume--all duties which were executed with great enthusiasm and huge smiles on all the faces.

Principal Spence worked hard all night in a pie costume and with the help of one of the teachers they encouraged the families to make a donation and receive a delicious hot apple pie.

There was a special appearance by Ronald McDonald at 4:30 and all the families enjoyed meeting and getting a picture with Ronald McDonald.

A special thank you goes to Principal Spencer who organized the event as well as everyone that worked and attended this exciting event.

The school plans to use the money raised to help the victims of the February 28th Ottawa tornado.
