Minooka Judo Club Brings Home 12 Medals from Halloween Tournament
There were 148 competitors from across the Midwest.

MINOOKA, IL — The Minooka Judo Club brought home 12 medals from its annual Halloween tournament on Oct. 22. The medals were the result of nine competitors and the high school team championship.
There were 148 competitors from across the Midwest, including: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin.

- Senior Elena Costa placed 2nd in the Women’s Senior Novice division
- Senior Brent Morgan placed 2nd in the Men’s Senior Novice division
- Junior David Brinzo placed 1st in the Boys’ 15-16 and 3rd in the Men’s Senior Novice divisions
- Junior Mariela Olvera placed 1st in the Women’s Senior Novice division
- Junior Sebastian Gonzalez placed 2nd in the Men’s Senior Novice division
- Sophomore Eddie Jayko placed 2nd in the Boys’ 15-16 division
- Sophomore Victoria Walter placed 2nd in the Girls’ 15-16 and 2nd in the Women’s Senior Novice divisions
- Freshman Rick Undesser placed 2nd in the Boys’ 13-14 and 2nd in Men’s Senior Advanced divisions
- Freshman Dana Morgan placed 3rd in the Women’s Senior Novice division
David Brinzo, Eddie Jayko and Rick Undesser also competed in the high school team tournament and took first against Yorkville Judo Team.
