Minooka Library Offers 'Great Wrap-Up'

With the holiday season fast approaching, many people may be faced with a stack of unwrapped gifts. Three Rivers Library District has the solution for parents and other adults scrambling for a place to wrap presents in peace. Adults can register to join in on “The Great Gift Wrap Up” at the Minooka Branch, 109 N Wabena Ave, on Tuesday, Dec. 9, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

“The Great Gift Wrap Up” was created to give adults a place to wrap those special presents in a kid-free zone, with everything from wrapping paper, scissors, and tape to baubles and bows provided by the library.

“Kids don’t always go to bed as early as we would like and parents often feel tired soon after, so staying up late into the night wrapping presents isn’t always practical,” said Sarah Robertson, Adult Services Librarian. “We wanted to create a unique program that would offer a place with plenty of room for parents and other adults to wrap their own presents in a fun and festive environment that is free from the demands of children trying to sneak peeks at the presents.”

To attend “The Great Gift Wrap Up”, simply register in advance in person, online or by phone with Three Rivers Public Library District.

On Tuesday, Dec. 9, bring up to 3 presents you would like to wrap and drop in any time at the Minooka branch from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. to wrap your gifts.

All supplies for up to three presents will be provided, as well as festive music and snacks. For anyone wishing to wrap more than three presents, please bring wrapping paper and any decorative extras for the additional presents.
