Minooka's North Climbs to Teaching Pinnacle
Minooka High School's Kristen North recently completed the process to become a National Board Certified Teacher.

When it comes to the teaching profession, Minooka Community High School's Kristen North is leaving many of her peers in the South.
North, in her 15th year teaching at MCHS, has earned the highest credential available to American educators, according to a report on the school's website. She recently completed the process to become a National Board Certified Teacher through the National board for Professional Teaching Standards.
North teaches in the MCHS Career and Technical Education Department. She leads courses in Tech Exploration and Robotics, Advanced Tech Exploration and Robotics, Electricity/Electronics Technology, Adult Living and Horticulture Investigatoins.

"Earning my National Board Certification has allowed me to improve myself as a teacher," North stated in the report on the MCHS website. "The process challenged me to take an in-depth look at myself as a teacher. I had to analyze what I was doing in the classroom and identify ways to make it better."
"This is a distinctive honor for Kristen (North) and our school district," MCHS principal Darcie Kubinski stated in the report. "She is passionate about her craft and this accolade is certainly representative of her dedication to both teaching and continuously improving as a teacher."
