Christian Shaw, son of Richard and Mary Shaw of Gardner, has been named the Channahon-Minooka Rotary Club “Student of the Month” for April, according to a press release from Minooka Community High School District 111.
As a student in the Grundy County Special Education Cooperative’s REACH Program (housed at Minooka Community High School), Christian exemplifies Rotary International’s guiding theme of service to others. He is always willing to help other students and staff in need, greets others every morning, and enjoys making others laugh. He also serves as a technology assistant for his class.
Outside the classroom, Christian is a REACH Student Council member and has participated in Special Connections league bowling and in Miracle League baseball.

After high school, Christian plans to attend the REACH Transition Program and hopes to work in the trucking and transportation industry.
