Minooka Women's Club Vice President, Carolyn Healy, is giving Kim Bavilacqua a donation to be used by Handling H.O.P.E. This non-profit organization Kim and Jen Coffel manage has placed and maintains lollipop trees in children's chemo wards of hospitals in 7 states and they have requests from hospitals in 32 other states for the lollipop trees. The lollipops themselves are sugar free sweetened with birch xylitol a creation of a dentist here in the Midwest. After chemo, children complained of the"yucky" taste sugar left in their mouths and these lollipops bring comfort and a smileinstead. During the business meeting plans for November's nursing home bingo event, the involvement with Chanooka Wish and their Thanksgiving baskets and Santa's Workshop in December were finalized.
The next meeting will be Tuesday, November 1, 7PM, in the Community Room of the Minooka Village Hall. The program with be a "make and take" holiday centerpiece.
