'Minor Release' from Vessel in Des Plaines River: Exxon
Joliet refinery staff were cleaning up petroleum leak.

ExxonMobil on Monday reported a “minor release” from an unknown vessel, which caused a petroleum sheen in the Des Plaines River, Reuters reported.
According to a filing with the Illinois Emergency Management Agency, Joliet refinery staff was working to clean up the release on Monday.
The Joliet refinery in Channahon employs more than 600 people and is equipped to handle 250,000 barrels of crude per day, according to Exxon.
