New School Board Member Sought For Troy District 30-C
District expresses condolences to family of long-serving board member J. Terry McFadden
The Troy Community School District 30-C Board of Education is sorry to report that longtime board member J. Terry McFadden recently passed away.
“The loss of Terry McFadden is felt throughout the Troy community,” said Superintendent Dr. Todd Koehl, “and we offer our condolences and gratitude to his family. His 40 years of service to our district reverberates throughout our hallways. We are humbled by his commitment and saddened by his loss.”
The school district now has an opening on its school board and is asking members of the public who wish to be considered for the position to submit their resume. The school board will select a slate of candidates from this pool in a closed session during its regularly-scheduled July meeting.

From there, interviews will be conducted at a specially-scheduled board meeting at a date to be determined. The board will offer the position to the candidate who best meets the mission and vision of the district.
This chosen candidate will hold the position until the next public election in April 2021. At that time, the new member can choose to either run again to complete the rest of the four-year term or decline to run in the election.
