Born March 18, 1926, in Dixon, Illinois, she was the youngest daughter of Walter and Mary (Drew) May. A house full and filled with love, included her brothers Harold (Gladys) and Lavern May and sisters Josephine (Daniel) Matthews, Lorella (Paul) Vaessen, and Lorraine (Charles) Sterricker.

Frances grew up during the Great Depression and came of age during World War II. When the war ended, she fondly tells the story of hearing Walter Weiser had returned home, quickly leaving a friend at the movie theater, hoping he would call. He did call, and they were married November 29, 1947. He was the love of her life, and they spent 55 loving years together before his passing in 2002.

Walter and Frances' joy was their beloved daughter, Mary Kay (John Hogland), of Morris. She lost one son who died at birth, Mark, whom she is joyfully reunited with now in heaven.

Frances was a woman ahead of her time, choosing to build a career outside the home as an insurance verifier at USF&G Insurance during an era when many women did not work.

An Irish lady, she was a true fashion icon, always impeccably put together, and never met a sweet treat she didn’t like. She was an avid bridge player who enjoyed shopping, spending time with her dear friends, and, of course, a hot slot machine.

Her granddaughters brought a great deal of love and joy into her full life. She is survived by Amy (Michael) McCluskey, of Plano, IL and Megan (Kyle) Borchers, of Morris, IL. She was the greatest-Gaga to Abigail & Jaxon Borchers and Keeleigh & Declan McCluskey, all of whom will share fond memories of her many blessings. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

At 90, she bravely moved from Dixon, Illinois, to Morris, Illinois, to be closer to her family. She cooked them meals, made new card friends, babysat her dear great-grandchildren, and quickly became an honorary Morris resident.

Her life was not simply measured by 100 years on Earth, but by the family she built with Walter, and the countless lives she touched with her beautiful smile, quick wit, and genuine warmth. She was a faithful Catholic, and her family finds great comfort knowing she is in the arms of the Lord.
