An online petition has been created to save the Old Millbrook Bridge from demolition.
Addressed to President of the Kendall County Forest Preserve Jeff Wehrli, the petition asks that money be reallocated to help restore the bridge.

Wehrli said the bridge is not in any immediate danger of being torn down. In fact, no decision has been made regarding the fate of the bridge. A structural engineering study was done, however.
“Whoever jumped the gun and decided that the board was gonna tear that bridge down is sadly misspoken and is in no way true,” Wehrli.

Wehrli said he and the board are trying to get grant money to save the bridge.
Sandra Schultz, a resident of Millbrook, wrote on the petition page that the bridge is a piece of Kendall County History.
“I can also see it from my house and my children grew up using it,” she wrote. “And I hope to have my grandchildren use it too.”
