Robbery At Dollar General In Channahon With 3 People Inside: Report
Nobody has been captured in connection with the Friday the 13th robbery at the Channahon Dollar General that opened in 2021.

CHANNAHON, IL —One of the safest communities in Illinois, the village of Channahon, had one of its Dollar General stores robbed on Friday the 13th, according to the Morris radio station, WCSJ. Channahon's Police Department opted not to publicize the crime on the agency's Facebook page or issue a press release after the crime, even though the robber remains at large.
According to the Morris radio station, the Channahon crime happened around 10 p.m. and the robber got away with $1,800 from the Dollar General store at 25500 South Peninsula Drive. There are two Dollar Generals in Channahon and the one that was robbed is on the west side of the village along the Route 6 corridor between Morris and Joliet.
WCSJ reported the robber implied he had a gun, but did not show a weapon during his crime.

Two employees were ordered to lay on the floor, and so was the store's one customer, the radio station reported it learned from Channahon police several days afterward.
One employee was ordered to open a cash register and unlock a safe before the robber brought all three people to a backroom inside the Dollar General where they were told not to move until he after the robber left, according to WCSJ.

The police department indicated to WCSJ that the robber was a Black man, middle-aged, who wore a light blue hoodie, black pants, black shoes, a red hat and a black surgical mask.
Channahon's Police Department has made no arrests in the case, and the agency has not publicized any video surveillance of the crime.
