At Meals on Wheels for Northern Illinois (MOWFNI), we are dedicated to helping our senior neighbors live independently, safely, and with dignity in the homes they love. We achieve this through nutritious food, wellness checks, and the power of human connection, but we cannot do it alone. The Power of Our Volunteers Our volunteers are the heartbeat of MOWFNI. If you have just two hours a week to spare, you can make a profound difference. Delivering meals fits seamlessly into a midday routine or lunch break. As a volunteer driver, you do far more than hand over a meal; you provide a friendly smile, a warm conversation, and a crucial safety check for a senior who might not see anyone else that day. We offer flexible scheduling that allows you to volunteer weekly, monthly, or as part of a team with coworkers or friends. Our Core Programs: Home-Delivered Meals: We provide hot, medically tailored, and nutritious meals delivered directly to the doorsteps of those who cannot cook or shop for themselves. Will County Children's Advocacy Center

The Will County Children's Advocacy Center was founded in 1995 by State's Attorney James Glasgow to partner with multidisciplinary teams (MDTs) comprised of law enforcement, DCFS investigators, medical personnel, prosecutors, and Will County CAC forensic interviewers, family advocates, and trauma therapists in response to reports of severe physical abuse, sexual abuse, commercial exploitation, neglect, and exposure to violence of children, in Will County, IL. Our Will County CAC intake/MDT coordinator, forensic interviewers, family advocates, and trauma therapists provide the following services: * Forensic Interviews: After a child is referred to the Will County CAC by law enforcement or the IL Dept. of Family Services (DCFS), our Intake Coordinator schedules a forensic interview for the child. One of our 4 forensic interviewers listens to the child’s story and asks non-leading, developmentally-appropriate questions as the child talks about the trauma he/she has experienced. Law enforcement, prosecution, DCFS, and mental health professionals observe the interview from a separate room. This reduces trauma for the child and provides a stronger foundation if the case goes to court. * Family Advocacy: Our family advocates are committed to helping each family navigate the complex systems that a family enters when a child makes an outcry of abuse. As each case goes through the investigation, prosecution and healing process, the team is there to help the family understand the process, learn about their rights and successfully access resources that will help their family during crisis. * Trauma-Focused Therapy: Our team of licensed clinical social workers provide short-term, trauma informed therapy to children who have received a forensic interview. Since child abuse affects the whole family, the services are available at no cost to both the child and their non-offending family members. Individual and group therapy is offered in English and Spanish.

The Lakewood Prairie HOA is looking for a part-time clubhouse manager. Approximately 10 hours a week. $14.00/hr pay to start. Must be able to work one day and one evening shift. Duties will include obtaining quotes and contracts for the HOA Board to review, reviewing lifeguard paperwork, updating HOA website, sending out quarterly newsletter to homeowners, reviewing general contractors for compliance and quality of work, compiling and maintaining homeowner violations and letters, and assisting HOA manager as needed. Previous office work experience preferred. Experience with Excel preferred. Celebrate America's 250th anniversary with a free evening of music, food trucks, and patriotic fun culminating in a spectacular fireworks display. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs to enjoy a live concert by Sundance and receive commemorative giveaways while supplies last.
As part of this year's celebration, we will host a special presentation commemorating America's 250th anniversary. Join us as we sing "Happy Birthday" to America and celebrate this historic milestone together.
Commemorative giveaways will be available in honor of the 250th anniversary while supplies last. In the event of inclement weather, a decision will be made by noon on July 3 regarding postponement. Timbers of Shorewood

The Timbers of Shorewood invites the community to the next free summer concert featuring acclaimed musician Frank Rossi. The concert takes place at 6 p.m. on Friday, July 3, at The Timbers of Shorewood, located at 1100 North River Road, Shorewood. The event is free and open to the public.FOOD TRUCK UPDATE: Joey's Red Hots Food Truck will be onsite from 5 – 7 p.m.UPDATE: Due to the heat, the concert will be moved indoors.
Frank Rossi, performing on accordion and keyboard, will fill the evening air with a lively variety of polkas, hits from the 1950s, and current favorites. Rossi was named the 2010 recipient of the Order Sons of Italy Leonardo da Vinci Award of Excellence in Performing Arts and frequently performs at fine dining establishments throughout the Chicagoland area.
“Frank Rossi is one of our absolute favorite entertainers here at the Timbers,” said, Sheila Albor, director of marketing. “Having him perform on our patio is always a very special treat for the community. We welcome everyone to come out, bring a blanket and/or a lawn chair, and enjoy a wonderful evening of live music.”

- 1:30 p.m., Thursday, July 16 – Del Bergeson Orchestra (Big Band) -&nbsp;2 p.m., Thursday, July 23 – Hearts of Zagreb (Traditional Croatian Folklore Dance Group) Note: This specific performance will be hosted inside the main Ballroom. -&nbsp;10:30 a.m., Saturday, July 25 – Cloggin’ Craze (New Lenox Clogging Dance Group)
