Shorewood Store Sells $200,000 Lottery Ticket

A Plainfield man is the winner of a $200,000 Lucky Day Lotto jackpot.

“It was my lucky day,” Robert Ewers said after his Quick Pick ticket matched all five numbers - 09 - 11 - 15 - 16 – 45 – to win $200,000 in the Aug. 31 Lucky Day Lotto evening drawing.

Ewers said that when he plays Lucky Day Lotto, he always buys a Quick Pick.

“This time, for no particular reason, I treated myself to 10 Quick Picks. I won on the tenth one,“ he said in a press release from the Illinois Lottery. He said he plans to invest the windfall for retirement.

The winning ticket was purchased at Speedway, 900 Brookforest Ave. in Shorewood. The retailer received a bonus of $2,000, or 1 percent of the prize amount, for selling a winning ticket.

Lucky Day Lotto drawings are twice a day, seven days a week.
