Bathroom Fire At Minooka HS Extinguished

The fire happened shortly before 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Minooka Community High School Central campus.

MINOOKA, IL — A small fire was reported at 9:57 a.m. Tuesday inside a bathroom at the Minooka High School's Central Campus and the flames were quickly put out, Minooka's Police Department announced. The students were evacuated from the building at the time of the emergency and were later asked to gather in the gym.

By 11 a.m. all students and staff were reported as being safe, police said. Three students were evaluated for minor medical issues unrelated to the fire, police said.

Because of the incident, high school students were being dismissed from school early, at 11:15 a.m.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, police said.
