Stay Local for Great Events
Channahon and Minooka residents will be attending two big community events in the next two weekends.
When I first moved to, I attended the Channahon Minooka Community Showcase and was impressed. It was a sizable expo for a smaller community. But more than that, there was a lot going on. Booths were not just handing out pens with their names printed on them. They were explaining businesses, sharing samples, getting to know the residents who took the time out to attend.
Last year, I manned the Channahon-Minooka Patch booth at the expo and this year I will do so again. But, this year, I will be joined by our new Ad Manager . Patch will have drawings throughout the day for Patch swag - and if I have missed dropping off your Patch prize from Where in the Village, stop by the table and I will get you your prize right away.
The community showcase takes place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at

And next weekend...
Patch was just getting to know the community last year and we were lucky enough to get to sponsor and volunteer to paint heads and faces at the Channahon St. Baldrick's event. We will be doing so again this year. In fact, we have lined up about 17 people to volunteer their time to paint faces, arms and newly-bald heads.
The St. Baldrick's event in Channahon is a big deal - it's a community event in the truest sense of the description and it raises money to help find a cure for cancer.

Watch Patch for a story on the event itself next week, but in the meantime, mark your calendars. St. Baldrick's festivities begin at 7 p.m., March 31. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and the event is at Skateland, 25334 W. Eames in Channahon.
