Three Rivers Soccer Club triumphant at Wheaton Wings Spring Classic 2016

3 teams from Three Rivers Soccer Club were victorious at the Wheaton Wings Spring Classic in May.

WHEATON — Three Rivers Soccer Club came away triumphant from the Wheaton Wings Spring Classic 2016, with three of the club’s teams winning the tournament championships in their divisions.

The tournament, held May 20 to 22 in Wheaton, included more than 100 teams competing in 14 divisions. The Three Rivers U14 Girls, U12 Girls and U10 Orange teams all took home first-place honors.

The U14 Girls team, coached by Jeff Lundeen, includes Mia Alessio, Sydni Bortles, Breanna Ciemny, Megan Egizio, Aimee Hild, Hailey Hoge, Kelly Hutchinson, Jillian Janovyak, Sophie Leach, Laura Mascote, Kate McCarthy, Bailey Pubentz, Julia Rayola, Nina Riojas, Reagan Shea, Maria Spesia, Angel Thomas and Sierra Vidican.

The U12 Girls teams is coached by Debbie Rios and includes Elizabeth “Libby” Buss, Kathryn Cichon, Alexandra Cimino, Alexa Fitzgerald, Melody Hamerla, Chloe Johnson, Mackenzie Johnstone, Sarah Kehrer, Cayla Koranda, Cadence Lisula, Keagan Mele, Ciara Miller, Oliva Rayola and Monica Zavala.

Pedro Gutierrez coaches the U10 Orange team. His players include Dario Gutierrez, Colin Kennedy, Carter Lundeen, Joey Maffeo, Alex Mascote, Ryan Richter, Nick Sipes, Ashley Sullivan and Robbie Tarver.

“I’m extremely proud of every single one of them,” Gutierrez said of his team. “They knew coming into the (final) game it was going to be a tough game, but they stepped it up and rose to the challenge. They earned it.”

Three Rivers Soccer Club is based in Minooka and fields boys’ and girls’ teams from the U7/U8 age group through high school. Players hail from Will and Grundy counties, including Minooka, Channahon, Joliet, Shorewood and Plainfield.
