Train Kills 82-Year-Old Braidwood Resident

The Braidwood Fire Department notified the Will County Coroner's Office to respond to Friday afternoon's fatality.

BRAIDWOOD, IL — The Will County Coroner's Office announced that 82-year-old Braidwood resident William P. Armstrong died Friday afternoon after being hit by a train.

Armstrong was a pedestrian when the train hit him at the intersection of East Main Street and North Washington Street. The Braidwood Police Department is investigating the incident. An autopsy has been scheduled for Saturday.

The fatality happened around 12:55 p.m. at North Washington Street and East First Street.
