Truck, Go-Karts Stolen In Channahon, Chicago Teen Charged

Channahon police say the Chicago teenager stole a red GMC Sierra truck, a utility trailer and two go-karts this week.

CHANNAHON, IL — An 18-year-old Chicago resident faces three felony charges in connection with the theft of a red GMC Sierra pick-up truck and two go-karts in Channahon.

The Channahon Police Department arrested Raymond Sims on Wednesday morning on charges of aggravated possession of a stolen motor vehicle and two counts of theft.

Sims is accused of stealing the truck, valued at more than $25,000, on Wednesday, July 8, according to the Will County criminal complaint.

Besides the truck, Sims is accused of stealing a utility trailer and its contents from Don Carter Builders and the value of that stolen property was between $10,000 and $100,000, according to prosecutors.

Sims is also accused of stealing two custom-made go-carts from another Channahon victim on Wednesday, and the value of the go-carts was between $500 and $10,000, the complaint states.

Sims was delivered to the Will County Jail around noon on Wednesday. Jail logs indicate his bail was set at $5,000.

On Thursday night, Sims was released from custody after posting 10 percent, jail logs show.
