Will County Sheriff's Office to Collect Prescription Medicine
Unwanted medicine can be dropped off at the Will County Courthouse from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sept. 26.

If you’ve got prescription medicine around the house that you want to get rid of, the Will County Sheriff’s Office can help you out with that.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 26, the sheriff’s office will be collecting prescription medicine in the parking lot of the Will County Courthouse at 14 West Jefferson Street in downtown Joliet.

This event gives the public an opportunity to prevent pill abuse and theft by ridding their homes of expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs, a Will County Sheriff’s Office press release said. The service is free and anonymous. No needles of any kind will be accepted.
Since the National Take Back Day was initiated in 2010, Americans have turned in over 4 million pounds of prescription drugs at the 5,653 sites across the nation. For other participating locations or for more information, please visit: www.deadiversion.usdoj.gov
