The woman who was killed was traveling alone, the sheriff said.

RURAL GRUNDY COUNTY, IL — Grundy County Sheriff Ken Briley informed Joliet Patch's editor of a mid-morning crash involving two cars that resulted in a fatality.
The Grundy County Sheriff’s Office announced on Facebook that its deputies were on the scene of a traffic accident involving a fatality at the intersection of Gardner Road and Johnny Run Road, in unincorporated Kinsman.
"The roadway will be closed for an extended period of time. Please avoid this area and find an alternative route of travel," the agency cautioned.

Sheriff Briley told Joliet Patch it appears that around 9:10 a.m. a white Mercedes-Benz was heading east along Gardner Road, where there is no stop sign, while the blue Honda car was traveling along Johnny Run Road.
Briley said the blue Honda missed a stop sign on Johnny Run Road and crashed into the white car. From the point of impact, the blue car veered out of control, continuing across a homeowner's front lawn, ultimately colliding with the side of the house. It's the only house near the intersection, the sheriff said.
