Woman, 30, Dies After Crashing Into House At Rural Grundy County Intersection: Coroner Releases Identity

RURAL GRUNDY COUNTY, IL — The Grundy County Coroner's Office has identified the woman killed when her vehicle struck another car, then crashed into a house, Wednesday morning.

Grundy County Sheriff Ken Briley informed Joliet Patch's editor of the mid-morning crash.

By 1:30 p.m., Grundy County Coroner John Callahan issued a news release identifying the woman who was killed as 30-year-old Rosemary E. Bolding of Huntley, a western Chicago suburb. The coroner said Bolding was northbound on Johnny Run Road when she failed to stop at the marked intersection of Johnny Run and Gardner Road blacktop around 8:50 a.m.

"Miss Bolding’s vehicle was struck by an eastbound vehicle
in the intersection. Miss Bolding’s vehicle traveled into the northeast yard, where it struck the corner of the home. Miss Bolding was pronounced deceased at the scene by Callahan at 9:40 a.m.," Callahan said in his press release.

Earlier, the Grundy County Sheriff’s Office announced on Facebook that its deputies were on the scene of a traffic accident involving a fatality at the intersection of Gardner Road and Johnny Run Road, in unincorporated Kinsman.

"The roadway will be closed for an extended period of time. Please avoid this area and find an alternative route of travel," the agency cautioned.

Grundy County Sheriff's Office said it's their understanding that Bolding was traveling in the Dwight area to visit a friend. They were also told that Bolding worked in the public safety field as an emergency medical technician.

Sheriff's officials said that after missing the stop sign and colliding with the white car, Bolding's car never slowed down, spun around and maneuvered around a clump of trees before finally hitting the corner of the ranch-style house and the parked truck in the driveway.
