1 Dead, 2 Hurt in Crash on Lake Shore Drive

A 27-year-old died in the Lake Shore Drive rollover crash.

CHICAGO, IL -- A rollover crash on Lake Shore Drive killed a 27-year-old man and injured two other people early Friday morning.

A minivan headed south on Lake Shore Drive collided with a northbound car attempting to turn left at East Balbo, causing the car to roll over, the Chicago Tribune reported.

A 27-year-old man who was in the car was later pronounced dead following the crash. Two additional occupants of the car were also injured, including a 29-year-old woman taken to an area hospital in serious condition. A 28-year-old man was also taken to an area hospital in critical condition, WGN reported.

Southbound Lake Shore Drive was closed near Balbo following the crash but were reopen by just after 6 a.m. The crash remains under investigation.
