100 Club of Illinois Honors Extraordinary First Responders at Annual Valor Awards
An Inspiring Evening of Courage and Community Honoring the Bravery and Lifesaving Heroism of Illinois First Responders
The 100 Club of Illinois proudly honored some of the state’s bravest police officers, firefighters, and paramedics during its annual Valor Awards, held at the Chicago Cultural Center on April 7, 2026. The evening brought together first responders, families, civic leaders, and community members to recognize extraordinary acts of courage and service across Illinois.
The ceremony opened with the Presentation of Colors by the 100 Club of Illinois Honor Guard, followed by a performance from the Pipes and Drums of the Chicago Police Department. Police Officer Kenyatta Gaines delivered the National Anthem, setting a tone of reflection and gratitude for the evening.
Led by Board President Michael Meagher, CEO Caitlyn Brennan, and Chief Program Officer Meg Krase, the program highlighted the remarkable stories behind each honoree—sharing firsthand accounts of bravery, quick thinking, and lifesaving action in the line of duty. Each recipient was recognized not only for their heroism, but also for the support of their departments and families who stand behind them.
