100 Degree Heat Index Tuesday, Storms Throughout Week In Illinois
Heat index values over 100 are expected most areas Tuesday afternoon, and values higher than 105 are likely for southwest of Chicago.
ILLINOIS — Dangerous heat index values over 100 degrees are possible Tuesday, and there are also chances of storms through mid-week, according to the National Weather Service. Scattered storms will be possible at times, but it will be dry most of the time, the weather service said.
Monday has a high of 85 degrees, and gusty winds and large hail are possible with storms on Monday, the weather service said. Temps will turn even hotter on Tuesday, which will be very humid and again have a chance of storms.
Heat index values over 100 are expected in most areas Tuesday afternoon, and values higher than 105 are likely for areas southwest of Chicago, according to the weather service.

Wednesday will be humid with a high of 89 degrees, and there will again be a chance of storms, the weather service said. After mid-week, there is still a chance of storms and showers on Thursday and Friday.
Thursday will have a high of 90, and Friday a high of 80, according to the weather service.
