CHICAGO, IL — An 11-year-old boy was killed Thursday morning in a hit-and-run crash, according to Chicago police.

The incident occurred about 10:20 a.m. in the 3300 block of West 16th Street in Lawndale, police said. The child was pronounced dead at Stroger Hospital and the vehicle that struck him fled in an unknown direction, according to police.

The incident remains under investigation, police said.
