2 Killed, 16 Injured In Wrong-Way Crash On Chicago's South Side: Report

The car had been driving the wrong way and then struck other cars, before bursting into flames, CNN reported.

CHICAGO, IL — A car driven by a driver traveling the wrong way careened into several other vehicles at an intersection in Chicago and killed two people inside, as well as injured 16 others, including seven children, CNN reported.

Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown said that a Dodge Charger had been traveling “at a very high rate of speed” the wrong way northbound in a southbound lane in Chicago’s South Side at about 5 p.m. Wednesday just before the crash, according to the outlet.

It ended up hitting seven other vehicles when it entered the intersection and then burst into flames after the crash, killing the two people inside, the outlet reported.
