2 Road Rage Shootings On I-290 In Same Day: Police
Two men are charged in connection with separate road rage shootings that occurred the same day on Interstate 290, police said.

CHICAGO — Illinois State Police on Sunday announced charges against two men in connection with two separate road rage shootings on Interstate 290 that occurred on the same day.
David N. Andujar, 33, of Chicago, was charged with two counts of aggravated discharge of a gun and one count of unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon, police said. Mario Lyons, 45, of Burnham, was charged with aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon and aggravated unlawful possession of a weapon with no firearm owner’s identification, according to police.
Troopers responded shortly after 10:30 a.m. Thursday to eastbound I-290 near Central Avenue, where a shot was fired from one vehicle to another, police said, adding no injuries were reported and Chicago officers found the vehicle, leading to the recovery of a gun and the charges against Lyons.

Around 10:45 p.m. the same day, troopers responded to I-290 westbound near Austin Avenue after a person shot at a vehicle repeatedly, according to police, who said the victim’s vehicle was not hit and the victim was not hurt. Troopers found the suspect vehicle and took two people into custody, including Andujar, police said.
