3-Year-Old Pushed Into Lake Michigan By Relative, May Not Survive: Reports
The child suffered a cardiac arrest and was in critical condition at Lurie Children's Hospital, according to reports.
CHICAGO, IL — A 3-year-old boy was in critical condition after being pulled from Lake Michigan near Navy Pier, according to police, who are investigating whether the child was pushed into the water by a relative, reports said.
The boy was recovered from the lake about 1 p.m. Monday in the 700 block of East Grand Avenue and was taken to Lurie Children’s Hospital, according to police, who said the child was with a guardian at the time of the incident. Detectives were questioning a person of interest Tuesday — identified by WGN as the boy's aunt — and the case remained under investigation, police said.
The child suffered a cardiac arrest and was not expected to live, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.
