Clint Clark (Clark Week Productions) is proud to present Jim Henry’s uplifting play “The Angels of Lemnos” for a very special 30th anniversary revival at Bramble Arts Loft, 5545 N. Clark. Performances are Friday, Feb. 6-Sunday, Feb. 22. A portion of proceeds will go to support Deborah’s Place women’s shelter, whose mission is to serve unaccompanied women experiencing homelessness.

“The Angels of Lemnos” premiered at Chicago’s Dramatists where it won two Jeff Awards (including best new works in 1999) and the LA Times Critics Choice Award after a five-month run in Hollywood. Variety says, “He [Henry] uses lyrical touches of magic and mythology to elevate what could otherwise come off as trite melodrama into something unique and extraordinary… there’s enough good humor to balance the inherent pathos with jubilant laughter.”

“The Angels of Lemnos” is the story of Nathan Spandrel, an unhoused man with an intellectual disability who copes with a traumatic past by believing he can become an angel. He finds something very special, “his gift from God.” It’s a little baby boy, and he’s still alive.
