5 Chicago Restaurants Among Best 100 for Foodies
Of the 100 most well-reviewed restaurants in the country, Chicago has five.
CHICAGO, IL - Online restaurant review leader OpenTable has released its list of the 100 Best Restaurants for Foodies in America this year, and has included a handful of classy Chicago joints.
“Foodies,” once semi-famously referred to on an episode of “NewsRadio” as “ones who enjoy the company of food,” fit the bill for anyone in this review. Anyone who doesn’t mind tossing down a three-figure minimum for a night of exceptional dining.
OpenTable used restaurant reviews from more than 5 million Americans to determine the list. The reviewers were verified by OpenTable, which looked at reviews of 20,000 restaurants in determining the top 100.
The list wasn’t ordered, but users could view the ones selected in their state.

It was no surprise that all five mentions from Illinois were of restaurants located within the city limits of Chicago.
Indiana, Illinois’ neighbor to the east, didn’t get a single restaurant on the list. Many of the restaurants listed were in the eastern half of the United States, with several picked from New York and Pennsylvania.

OpenTable touted the history and lure of Boka (contemporary American), 1729 North Halsted; Brindille (French), 534 N. Clark St., Girl & The Goat (contemporary American), 809 W. Randolph; goosefoot (contemporary American), 2656 W Lawrence Ave. and Les Nomades (contemporary French), 222 E. Ontario.
If those are indeed the five best for “foodies” in Chicago, the prices associated with the businesses fall in line. As does the attire, as most of the above have strict requirements on dress.
