50,000 Counterfeit N95 Masks Seized At O’Hare Airport

The masks were being shipped from China to a company in Manalapan, New Jersey.

CHICAGO (CBS) — A shipment of 500,000 N95 masks was seized at O’Hare International Airport on Sep. 10, 2020, after federal authorities determined they were apparently counterfeit. According to CBP, the seized masks had a suggested retail price of $474,905, but an estimated value of more than $3 million, due to the high demand for N95 masks during the pandemic.

The masks were being shipped to a company in Manalapan, New Jersey.
