50 Degrees Wednesday, Then More Winter Weather For Illinois

The weather service said "impactful" winter weather is possible late Wednesday and Thursday.

ILLINOIS — A warm-up in temperature as well as "soaking rains" are expected this week for the Chicago area, according to the National Weather Service.

After cold temps on Saturday and Sunday, Monday will have a high of 33 degrees. Flurries and a slight chance of snow is possible Monday morning, but most of the day will be mostly sunny.

Tuesday will be even warmer, with a high of 43 degrees, and should remain dry all day, according to the weather service forecast.

Wednesday will be the warmest day of the week, with a high of 53, and rain and wind are possible, the weather service said. Freezing rain is possible Wednesday night, and could possibly mix with snow and sleet early Thursday.

The weather service said it is too early to talk how much ice or snow accumulations there would be, if any.

Thursday has a chance of snow before noon, and the high will be 35 degrees, according to the weather service forecast.

Temps will be colder again on Friday, which will have a high of 27 and be mostly sunny.
