Grab your tote bag and head to Wicker Park for this outdoor market. Find fresh produce and other products from local and regional vendors. The market emphasizes supporting producers who grow environmentally-responsible food. Here you’ll be able to ask questions, connect with community and find healthy food options.

2. Millennium Park Summer Workouts

When: Beginning May 16, 8 - 11:45 a.m.

Where: Millennium Park Great Lawn and Wrigley Square

Grab your yoga mat and head to Millennium Park for a workout session. From yoga to pilates, cardio kickboxing to Zumba, enjoy a free 45-minute class in outdoors with the magnificent Chicago skyline around you.

3. Expo Chicago Contemporary Art Fair

When: April 9 - 12

Where: Navy Pier Festival Hall

Head to Navy Pier for this annual event, which features on-site art installations, leading contemporary and modern art, inventive talks and public art initiatives. In its 13th year, the event will feature a partnership with the forthcoming Obama Presidential Center, including sections curated by the center’s director.

4. Windy City Hot Dog Fest

When: May 29 - 31

Where: 4000 N. Milwaukee Ave.

Leave the ketchup at home! The festival, in its fifth year, celebrates the hot dog with some of Chicago’s most iconic vendors competing for the title of Best Frankfurter. The event isn’t just about food, it also includes live music, family-friendly activities and a community stage for local talent.

5. 57th Street Art Fair

When: June 6 - 7, times vary by day

Where: 57th Street between Woodlawn and Kenwood Avenues; and on Kimbark between 56th and 57th Streets

In its 79th year, this is the oldest juried art fair in the Midwest, drawing thousands of visitors every summer. Find art from vendors from across the country, enjoy live music on Buddy Guy’s Legend Stage, grab a bite at one of the food trucks and enjoy hands-on children’s activities. Admission is free.

6. Chicago Pride Fest

When: June 20 - 21, 11 a.m. - 10 p.m.

Where: North Halsted Street, between Addison and Grace streets

Enjoy live music on three stages, a Proud Pet Parade, best of Chicago drag performances, dance exhibitions, 150 food and merchandise vendors and more. The event, in its 25th year, offers something for everyone and takes place the weekend prior to the Chicago Pride Parade.
