Activists To File Police Reports Alleging Crimes By Federal Agents In Chicago During Operation Midway Blitz

A group of activists and elected officials was set to file reports with the Chicago Police Department Monday, alleging crimes committed by federal agents during Operation Midway Blitz last fall.

Elected officials, attorneys, and community leaders will speak at 9 a.m. Monday at Belmont Area Police Headquarters, at 2452 W. Belmont Ave.
Among those set to attend is Marimar Martinez, who was shot by a U.S. Customs and Border Protection agent last fall in Chicago's Brighton Park neighborhood. Border Patrol agent Charles Exum shot Martinez five times in October 2025 after agents wrongly claimed she tried to ram into them.
