After Chicago Carjacking, Armed Men Rob Wisconsin Pharmacy: FBI

The terrifying pharmacy takeover was caught on surveillance tape.

CHICAGO, IL — The FBI is trying to identify two suspects who allegedly carjacked an SUV in Chicago at gunpoint before driving to Wisconsin, storming into a pharmacy and stealing opiates in an armed robbery.

The suspects in that terrifying Dec. 28, 2016 incident are believed to have ties to Chicago and Indianapolis, the FBI said Thursday.

The violent takeover of the Swan Serv-U Pharmacy in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin around 9:15 a.m. was caught on tape by surveillance cameras.

Video shows one of the men held a gun to the back of frightened employees. Another pushes a pharmacy employee to the floor, knocking the phone from their hand.

Wauwatosa police said the robbers did not take cash. They were only interested in drugs, forcing pharmacists to fill a bag with prescription medication.

They said the amount of drugs stolen was unknown.

"They simply wanted the opiates, the narcotics, then they were on their way in a matter of minutes," Captain Brian Zalewski told WITI-TV.

Police said the pair stole a black Lexus SUV from Chicago's South Side earlier that morning. After the robbery, the suspects soon dumped the stolen car. It was recovered less than a mile away.

Both men were described as between the ages of 20 and 25 and should be considered armed and dangerous, according to police.

The FBI has offered a $5,000 reward for information which leads to their identification, arrest and conviction.

Anyone with knowledge about the men was asked to call the FBI's Indianapolis field office at 317-595-4000, its Chicago office at 312-421-6700 or the FBI in Milwaukee at 414-276-4684.
