Woman Sexually Assaulted In Cook County Forest Preserves: Authorities

CHICAGO — Police are seeking the public’s help to find a man who sexually assaulted a woman over the weekend in the Cook County forest preserves, officials said.

The 29-year-old woman was assaulted around 12:30 p.m. Saturday in an off-trail, heavily wooded area on the eastern side of LaBagh Woods, according to the Forest Preserve District of Cook County.

The man is described as about 6 feet tall, with a long brown-and-blond beard reaching his chest, officials said. He was wearing a dark shirt, black beanie, dark sunglasses and a zip-up black jacket with a red stripe on the shoulder, according to authorities.

“For public safety and to further the investigation, Forest Preserves Police have increased car patrols and ATV and bicycle patrols in the area,” the forest preserve district said in a social media post.
