Through a team of licensed clinicians specializing in trauma-informed, evidence-based care, Kids Above All provides individual, group, and family counseling designed to help individuals heal, build resilience, and improve emotional well-being.

“Families dealing with sudden loss and grief are often placed on waiting lists for weeks or even months,” said Dan Kotowski. “At Kids Above All, we know access to timely mental health care can be life-changing. By partnering with The HAP Foundation and their Missing Pieces Program, we are offering immediate counseling services so these families can access support when they need it most.”

Through its partnership with The HAP Foundation, in coordination with referrals from the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office and others, families experiencing the trauma of gun violence can access grief navigation workshops, peer support, and long-term follow-up services designed to help them process loss and rebuild stability.

“Families dealing with the devastating loss caused by violence often need support long after the initial tragedy,” said Joseph Matty, President of The HAP Foundation. “Through the Missing Pieces program and our partnership with Kids Above All, we are working to ensure survivors have access to compassionate counseling, guidance, and community support so they are not navigating grief alone.”
