Toddler, 4 Others Hurt When 96-Year-Old Driver Crashes Into Chipotle: Cops

The driver suffered a medical emergency and was also hospitalized, according to police.

CHICAGO, IL — A 96-year-old man was hospitalized after crashing his vehicle into a Chicago Chipotle restaurant Saturday, sending five other people, including a toddler, to area hospitals, police said.

According to Chicago police, the crash happened just before 2 p.m. in the 5300 block of South Pulaski Road when the 96-year-old driver suffered a medical emergency that prevented him from stopping his 2007 Hyundai Sonata.

He was taken to Mt. Sinai Hospital for observation in good condition, police said.

The crash also caused structural damage to the restaurant, according to police.

As of late Saturday night, no citations had been issued in the crash.
