CHICAGO — Multiple flights reportedly had to go around at O'Hare International Airport Tuesday morning because of a coyote on a runway.

Patch has not yet independently confirmed the incident with airport or federal aviation officials.

The Federal Aviation Administration's O'Hare status page shows minor gate-hold and taxi delays of 15 minutes or less Tuesday morning, with no destination-specific delays listed.

Coyotes have caused trouble at O'Hare before. In January 2025, a United Airlines flight bound for Phoenix returned to O'Hare after striking a coyote during takeoff, according to The Associated Press. No injuries were reported.

Travelers should check with their airline for the latest flight status.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
