Jazz Musical at Chicago Shakespeare Theater (memesita.com) β Chicago theatergoers can catch Play On! at Chicago Shakespeare Theater's Yard at Navy Pier, where Twelfth Night is reimagined in a 1930s Harlem jazz world through October 18. With Duke Ellington standards, immersive staging, and a versatile cast under director Sheldon Epps, the production offers a high-energy, music-filled night out right on the lakefront.

4. Man Dies Hours After 3-Vehicle Crash Followed by Aftermath Crash with Metra Train at US-14 and Hart Rd Barrington (arlingtoncardinal.com) β A Metra train from Chicago's Ogilvie Transportation Center struck a car Friday after a three-vehicle crash left one vehicle on the tracks at US-14 and Hart Road in Barrington, fatally injuring the driver. The outbound UP-Northwest line train 623 was halted, causing extensive delays for Chicago-area commuters. No passengers or crew were hurt as investigators review the complex intersection and circumstances.
