14-Year-Old Girl Shot In Face, Chest: Chicago Police

She was taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said.

CHICAGO — A 14-year-old girl was severely injured in a weekend shooting in Chicago, according to police.

Officers responded around 2:30 a.m. Saturday to the 300 block of South Laramie Avenue in the city's Austin neighborhood for a report of a person shot, police said.

They arrived to find a vehicle with multiple gunshots and, a short distance away, they saw the girl, who had suffered gunshot wounds to the face and chest, according to police.

She was taken to Stroger Hospital in critical condition, police said. Detectives are investigating, according to police.
