Chicago Mass Shooting Injures 4, 1 Critically: Police

CHICAGO — Four people were injured — one critically — overnight in a shooting on Chicago's far west side, according to police.

Officers responded around 2:30 a.m. Sunday to the 600 block of South Central Avenue for a call of a person shot, police said. The victim had been standing on a sidewalk when an SUV pulled up and a person started shooting, striking him repeatedly, according to police, who said three more victims arrived at hospitals with gunshot wounds.

The victims are a 45-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds in critical condition, and three others, all in good condition, including a 39-year-old woman shot in the chest, a 30-year-old man shot in the neck and shoulder, and a 28-year-old man shot twice in the face, police said.

Detectives are investigating the incident, according to police.
