CHICAGO — An FBI agent was involved in a shooting Monday near the Dan Ryan Expressway in Chicago's Pilsen neighborhood, according to authorities.
The incident occurred in the area of West 18th Street and South Union Avenue, the FBI confirmed in a statement.
The 18th Street exit for the outbound freeway remained blocked as of 8:15 p.m. after the shooting earlier in the evening, the Chicago Tribune reported, adding that the Chicago Fire Department had transported one person from the area.
"The FBI takes all shooting incidents involving our agents or task force members seriously," the agency said in the statement.
"In accordance with FBI policy, the shooting incident is under review by the FBI's Inspection Division. As this is an ongoing matter, we have no further details to provide."
