CHICAGO — Someone who bought a Lotto ticket at a Chicago gas station has a $7.4 million payday waiting — along with another $2.
The ticket, purchased at the BP at 6751 W. Archer Ave., matched all six winning numbers in Monday's drawing, according to the Illinois Lottery. Those numbers were 6-12-13-14-30-42.
Another line on the same ticket matched two numbers, adding $2 to the winnings.
The station's manager, identified by the lottery as Abraham, said he hopes the jackpot winner is a familiar customer.
"I can't believe it — it's so exciting to have a jackpot-winning ticket sold right here at our store. I hope it was one of our regulars," Abraham said in the lottery's release.
He said the station has had another notable win recently.
"I've been the manager for nearly 20 years. We sold a $100,000 Lucky Day Lotto ticket a few months ago, so this seems to be our lucky year," he said.
The Archer Avenue BP will receive a $74,000 selling bonus, equal to 1 percent of the jackpot.
The $7.4 million prize is the third-largest Lotto jackpot won this year, according to the lottery. An $11.6 million jackpot-winning ticket was sold at a True North in Bartlett for the Jan. 24 drawing, and a $10.25 million winning ticket was sold at a Tony's Fresh Market in Chicago for the Aug. 1 drawing.
Monday's drawings also produced a $1 million Lotto Million 2 winner in Sauget. That ticket was purchased at Route 3 Fuel and Liquor, 2401 Mississippi Ave., and matched 14-18-20-21-27-31. The retailer will receive a $10,000 bonus.
Winners have one year from the drawing date to claim their prizes. The lottery advises winners to sign the backs of their tickets and keep them somewhere safe until they are ready to claim.
Lotto is an Illinois-only game with drawings on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
