Batter & Berries to Open in Olympia Fields

Popular Chicago brunch and breakfast spot to open its third location at Butterfield Plaza in Olympia Fields, IL

Batter & Berries, a breakfast and brunch restaurant with locations in Lincoln Park and downtown Chicago’s Riverwalk, will open a new location in Olympia Fields this Spring. The Village of Olympia Fields broke ground on the new restaurant today at 11 A.M. at 3236 Vollmer Road, Olympia Fields, IL.

Owners Dr. Tanya and Craig Richardson opened the first Batter & Berries in 2012. It has become known for serving up an energetic vibe and friendly service with a creative culinary flair. The menu ranges from sweet French toast flights, fried-chicken-stuffed waffles to savory dishes including brisket hash and specials that change frequently with the weather. "We try to take our food to another level," says Craig Richardson. "We make everything from scratch, and people appreciate the quality."

The Olympia Fields location will be the anchor for Butterfield Plaza shopping center. That center’s new owner, TREND Butterfield Plaza LLC, is run by real estate developer Lyneir Richardson and his wife Kiyana Richardson. “Batter & Berries will breathe new life and energy into the shopping center,” says Lyneir Richardson.

“We welcome Batter & Berries to our village. Olympia Fields is a beautiful place, and we put a lot of thought and intention into recruiting new businesses to come to here,” says Village President Sterling Burke. “The Village’s strategic goals around economic development, community building and financial health all align with maintaining the beauty of Olympia Fields.”

Batter & Berries owners chose Olympia Fields because the Village government has a strong vision and high-quality services. “We like Olympia Fields because of the Village’s vision for economic development and because the leadership is committed to helping our business thrive and flourish,” says co-owner Craig Richardson. “We want to be a catalyst for growth, and we want others to be catalysts too.”
