CHICAGO, IL — A beloved father and husband, Patrick Beasley, passed away just days before Christmas. His daughter, Asha Beasley, said he left behind a special gift for her mother, who was brought to tears on Christmas Day when she unwrapped it. The present was a Chicago Bears jersey.

Walter Payton's son, Jarrett, also replied, calling the story "amazing."

"Tell mom I hope she loves her @walterpayton jersey," he wrote. "God bless."

Many have replied to Asha Beasley and asked how they can help make her mom's holiday bright. The family said a scholarship has been set up in Patrick Beasley's name, and a contribution to it would be the best holiday gift they could receive.
